Mineração Morro do Ipê and Porto Sudeste want to express solidarity to those who have been directly and indirectly impacted by this tragedy in Brumadinho. We are ready to provide the necessary support and assistance.

 

Morro do Ipê has 46 employees living in Brumadinho, who are receiving psychological support and clinical evaluations, as well as food and other essential items.

 

The geotechnical team of Morro do Ipê follows all the guidelines of the Operations Manuals of the tailings dams and is in charge of monitoring them daily. Third-party auditors have confirmed the stability of that the dams meets the technical standards and the legal requirements from the National Mining Agency. Moreover, on January 25, 2019, the Civil Defense of Igarapé visited Morro do Ipê to verify the stability conditions of our dams.

 

Currently, Morro do Ipê is investing in technology to eliminate the use of tailings dams and, of course, all associated risks. Both Morro do Ipê and Porto Sudeste are committed to preserving life and protecting the environment, and for that reason we invest in solutions that bring even more safety to our operations.
